Understanding Business Immigration

The world today has become a global village meaning it has become much easier for people to access other parts of the world. People no longer move around the world for leisure and to visit, today people are also moving for business reasons.

If you talk to any Canadian Immigration Lawyer Ronen Kurzfeld, they will tell you that the rate at which people were migrating to Canada for business reasons went so high that it necessitated the introduction of business immigration laws. It became important to govern the movement of people in and out of the country for business reasons.

Those that are termed as immigrating under the business immigration laws are classified into self-employed people, entrepreneurs and investors. Investors are people with money that they are looking to put in already established ventures to allow them get some returns. Entrepreneurs on the other hand do the work of identifying gaps in the market and working to fill those gaps. Self-employed people are people who are already running their own businesses.

The definitions given above are not precise but they just give a general expression of what these three classes of people are. Basically, business immigrants are usually granted permanent residence in Canada on the basis of the fact that they are able to establish themselves economically in Canada. The good news is that the children and spouse of the business immigrant are normally also placed in the same category as that of the business immigrant.

There are however specific rules governing the immigration of each of these classes of people. Despite that there are already the general immigration rules that look into the movement of these people into Canada; the laws are further broken down to suit the different classes.

This is why it is important to ensure that you consult with a competent business immigration lawyer before making the move to Canada under any of those classes.
